Diondre Pace | Benedict College | Offensive Lineman

Q: Tell us about your college career and what the recruiting process was like. Why did you choose Benedict College?

A: The recruiting process for me was very slim. I didn’t have any major offers but was being recruited by a few D3 and Junior Colleges. I ended up attending an junior college my freshman year and red shirted. It was not until 2015, when I attended Benedict a 4 year College. I chosed Benedict because of the coaching staff, it had my major and they offered me a great scholarship.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?
A: My biggest accomplishment was being able to overcome the different junior college’s, play in a bowl game and obtained an full scholarship.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at Benedict College?

A: What I consider to be one of the most important things that I learned from my coaching staff was being willing to accept tough criticism and being accountable for your actions.

Q: What was your major and what are your plans if football didn’t work out?

A: My major is business management and my ultimate goal is owning my own business/ an entrepreneur.

Q: What would your teammates say about you and your qualities?

A: What my teammates say about me is that I am laid back ,very quiet but vocal when I need to be and a beast on the field. I am coachable, willing to learn accept criticism and I make changes to develop into a better player and person.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A: My biggest challenge is my weight I tend to get over looked because of my size that is the only thing that is holding me back.
How I am managing it is putting in the hard work in my work outs, watching what I eat and making wise lifestyle food choices.

Q: What is your biggest strength that you bring to a professional team and why should pro scouts consider you?

A: My biggest strength is I am a quick learner and pro scouts should consider me because I am versatile and can play any position on the offensive line.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A: The most influential person in my life is my mom, as a single parent she instilled in me the drive, determination-not to give up and most important faith at a very young age.

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back”/”pay it forward” in your community?

A: Yes I am currently an intern and mentor at a sports performance company in a nearby city in which I help train, encourage young aspiring football players. .

Q: How are you preparing for the 2019 National Scouting Combine and what are your expectations?

A: I am preparing for the 2019 National Scouting Combine by watching what I eat and working out 4 times a week after I get off work. My expectation is to get an invite to a NFL camp or any professional team.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

A: My ultimate achievement would be to play in the NFL, take care of my family and be inducted into the Hall of fame.
