Recruiting process was hard because of the lack of recognition. However, after taking the community college route, I did have division one teams recruiting me heavily. But sadly injury did me in I received AC joint sprain on my throwing arm which restricted me. The division one teams said I could go through the walk-on process but I need money to play football. I had two schools I narrowed it down to. Edinboro University and Kentucky Wesleyan College. I choose Kentucky Wesleyan because of the scholarship they offered me and because the offensive coordinator at the time was high on me.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your college career?

Well I have two that are equally the biggest accomplishments. One was when I was backup behind the starting QB. This was my first year at KWC. The program was 0-24 in 3 years and we were 0-2 to start the season. The Head coach decided to put me in the second quarter because our starter was having trouble. Just in the second quarter alone I was able to throw three touchdowns for 140 yards. Another big game was my senior year. We were playing Murray State University which is a division one AA program. We were losing by nearly sixty points in the fourth. The coaches decided to put me in. we were down 56- 6. In one drive I went six for six eighty- four yards and a touchdown drive.

Q: What were some of the challenges you faced during your career that you believe strengthened your resolve and ability to compete at the pro level?

The biggest challenge I faced was being told that I would not be the starter. How it made me ready for the pro’s is it made me work harder. I wanted to be the starter so bad that I focused on my throwing motion and stamina. I wanted to make sure that when I came into camp that I was at one hundred percent.

Q: What is your biggest strength that you bring to the field that might make a professional team sign you?

I do not like to boast about myself, but one thing you cannot see when watching game film or a highlight film is a player’s knowledge of the game. That is what I believe coaches need to know about me. I study film constantly when in season and in the off season I try to critique my throwing motion and drops as well. The biggest thing with me is my Pre-snap read. When in the film room I take the time to understand the defensive coordinators habits so that I can catch them in an actual game.

Q: How long have you been playing the position of Quarterback and was this a natural fit from day one?

I have been playing the quarterback position since freshmen year of high school. And from day one it was not a great fit. I originally started playing defensive line because I was thick and could not throw a football. The summer going into high school I decided to make a change and did nothing but throw and condition the whole summer. I came into my freshmen year throwing a football forty-five yards. As I got older, I would eventually run into a quarterback coach named John McGregor who coached many NFL players such as Tyrod Taylor, Matt Hasselback, and now Josh Woodrum. He fixed my throwing motion and drop back so that i could compete with those guys.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

Besides god I would have to say Coach John McGregor. He took me in under his wing and showed me compassion. Being a poor kid from Roanoke, Virginia, I could not afford what his training cost. But he took me in and made sure that I could compete with the best as far as throwing and reading a NFL defense. I owe this man my entire football career.

Q: What are your goals with football? If football does not work out do you have a “plan B”?

  1. To prove to all my doubters that I can play at the highest level. To compete with the best such as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. There is this chip on my shoulder that I have to make it so that people know who and what I am.
  2. Yes I do have a “plan B” I will pursue a coaching and teaching job at the college level. I really want to make sure that I can give each athlete the best teachings and training I can before I die.

Q: How did you prepare for the National Scouting Combine and what were your expectations?

I trained non-stop Monday- Friday with an organization called Dynasty Sports Performance. The creator “ Demarcus Ganaway” played in the NFL for the New York Jets. He took us through speed and agility training. Plus, he took us through endurance training which was terrible.

Q: What was your experience like in Indianapolis, and what did you learn from the experience?

I had a great time in Indianapolis. I met some great people and great coaches. I learned that getting on to a team either in the CFL, NFL, or AFL is extremely hard. Not because the talent level is high in the United States but that some of the best athletes get overlooked because scouts do not know who they are. It is easy to judge a book when it has a blank cover. So in order to make it to that next level, you have to put a great cover on the book so that people will look your way.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

The biggest one is to be the starting QB for a NFL team. Right now, I train like I am a starter. I am looking for the best coaches to coach me. I also am looking at NFL scouts who will give me an opportunity. I do nothing but research and workout so hard that I am exhausted when I go home. I hardly have time to write all the papers for my college classes. I may have an agent but I believe that if you want something bad enough you have to do it yourself. No one will ever understand how bad I want it. I just want to prove to the world and myself that I can do it. That I can play this sport at the professional level.
