Joseph Dienye: National Scouting Combine Interview

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your career?

My biggest achievements would have to be breaking the sack and TFL records at Bethel my senior year. I had high expectations coming into the University as a freshman from the coaching staff, so being able to take those records from my own defensive line coach was an honor.

What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

My biggest challenge has been how hard will I work when adversity hits. I’ve managed it by staying out of the spotlight and just working as hard as I possibly can and letting God handle the rest.

What one or two things do you currently do in your training that are keys to your success?

We have really been focusing on explosive movements, change of direction, flexibility, and quickness. Mainly because to me at DE and OLB those are key in rushing the QB.

Why did you choose to play football at Bethel? What was your recruiting process like?

I chose Bethel because I liked where the program was headed. I enjoyed the location and it was a real family atmosphere that I was so glad to be apart of.

What was your best memory at Bethel on and off the field?

My best memory would be defeating #1 Georgetown in the 2012 playoffs. Coming in at the #16 seed, we were projected to lose by double digits. Certainly a game I’ll never forget.

What would you consider to be the most important thing you learned from the coaching staff?

My defensive line coach was going through seminary school to become a preacher while I was at Bethel. Just being able to ask him any questions about anything really meant alot. So be more than a coach to your players is what I learned.

Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by?

Simply, reap what you sow. I’ve been putting alot of work into my craft and I expect big time results.

If football doesn’t pan out, what are your plans for a post career?

I still haven’t ultimately figured that out. All I know is I just want to play ball. In the future I’ll want to still be around the game, so coaching or management are definitely areas of interest.

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

Definitely my daughter, she always gives me a reason to never give up on anything. Having her has been my biggest blessing.

What would be your ultimate achievement?

I want to make an NFL roster and not only just make it. I want to be a leader on the team, a person that younger guys can look up to and want to be like. Everything after that will take care of itself.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
