Name: Morris Williams II
School: Emporia State University

Q: How did you get started playing football?

My parents signed me up for a little league football team called the UNA Bears at the age of five.

Q: What separates you from all the other athletes trying to become a professional?

My drive and determination, and being able to overcome adversity and obstacles, and still be successful.

Q: Tell us about your college choice, career and what the recruiting process was like.

I chose Emporia State University. My college career started at JUCO in Texas called Kilgore College where I played one year then got an offer to play football at the University of Memphis. Things didn’t work out, so I ended up attending ESU for three years.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

Being able to contribute to helping ESU win their first ever playoff game in school history.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?

This quote from Coach Higgins, “Be a duck and let it roll off your neck.” This means being able to take coaching or criticism and not letting it get you down and moving on to the next play.

Q: What is/was your biggest challenge and how do/did you manage it?

My biggest challenge was when I broke my scapula in Fall Camp. I overcame it by staying positive, taking it one day at time, and having faith that I would come back even better than I was before I got hurt.

Q: What is your biggest strength or X factor that you bring to a professional team?

Being explosive and the ability to make a big play at any moment.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

My pops because he showed me what hard work is, he is the hardest working person I know, and has always pushed me to be great in everything I do in life.

Q: What are your goals with football? If football does not work out, then what?

With football, my goals are to make a difference on and off the field for whatever team I am on, and to find ways to get better each day. If football does not work, then I plan to use the life lessons I learned from my parents, school and football to be successful at whatever I decide to do in life.

Q: How did you prepare for the National Scouting Combine and what are your expectations?

I prepared by training at Six1Five Sports Training in Murfreesboro, TN doing combine prep, speed work, position drills and strength training. My expectations are to perform at my highest level in hopes of catching someone’s attention.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

Becoming an elite receiver at the highest level possible.

Q: If you have to compare yourself to a current pro player, who would it be and why?

Brandin Cooks; because our height and body size are similar, he can play in the slot or outside receiver, punt and kick return, he can line up in the backfield and take jet sweeps, and he can also take the top off of a defense.
